FMC - Standalone Embedded Control Core
Run independently. Trigger from existing systems. Execute at the edge.
FMC is the Standalone Embedded Control Core of the ESMind Portable Motion Control Package. It stores and executes SelecStep workflows locally, coordinates motion and I/O, and turns defined machine tasks into real hardware actions.
Rather than depending on continuous control from a PC, FMC executes tasks directly at the machine level. It can operate as the main controller of a compact automation workcell or as an add-on task module within an existing system.
Built for Different Deployment Scales
FMC series
Industrial-format control for automation workcells
A 24 V DIN-rail version designed for electrical cabinets, training workcells, compact industrial machines, and standalone automation stations.
It provides a practical interface between SelecStep workflows and real industrial motion and I/O hardware.
Typical applications
Standalone automation workcells
Conveyor and pick-and-place systems
Training and demonstration workcells
Compact industrial machines
Machine development and pilot systems
Micro FMC
Compact control for embedded integration
A small-format FMC designed for robotics, prototypes, compact mechanisms, and integration directly inside existing products or machines.
Its compact size makes it suitable for applications where space, power consumption, and portability are important.
Typical applications
Small robots and mobile platforms
Embedded motion mechanisms
Prototype machines
Add-on task modules
Research and development systems

Dual-Mode Scalability
Two Ways To Use FMC
Standalone Workflow Mode
Program and run directly on FMC.
In Standalone Mode, users can create, edit, store, and run SelecStep workflows directly on the FMC device.
No PC required for operation.
No external software required for local task execution.
No PLC required for target standalone tasks.
External Trigger Mode
Trigger stored programmes from existing systems.
In External Trigger Mode, FMC can be added to an existing machine, PLC system, HMI, relay logic, sensor board, or external controller.
The external system activates a predefined digital input mask. FMC reads the input pattern, selects the stored SelecStep programme, executes it locally, and reports status through outputs.
Trigger → Execute Locally → Report Completion
Build Workflows Step by Step - No Code
Instead of writing code, users create workflows using predefined commands. Example:
MOVE +5000
OUTPUT 1 ON
MOVE -3000
OUTPUT 1 OFF
HOME
END
The controller executes each step sequentially and predictably.
Available commands include: 1. Empty, 2. Move X, 3. Delay, 4. Output, 5. Repeat, 6. Go To, 7. Loop To, 8. Reset Pos, 9. Wait Input, 10. Check Input, 11. Home Return, 12. End Program

Key Capabilities
Local task execution
Stored workflows are executed directly on embedded hardware.
Motion and I/O coordination
Machine actions, sensors, outputs, and timing are handled within one task sequence.
Standalone or integrated deployment
Use FMC as a workcell controller or as an add-on module for an existing system.
Multiple hardware formats
Deploy the same control approach from Micro FMC to DIN-rail FMC.
Deterministic execution
Structured SelecStep programmes are executed sequentially and predictably.
Edge-level operation
Physical tasks run at the machine level without depending on continuous cloud or PC control.
